Carmella Baynie and the Bhakti Raga Ensemble radiated the most amazing and uplifting sound at their musical performance, Universal Prayers for Peace, at Paddington Uniting Church in Sydney
With special guests Sri Prahlada and Edo and Jo, Carmella and the group enthralled the audience for nearly two hours. Every one joined into chanting and there was dancing all around.
Carmella’s harmonium rang out, supported by tabla, mrdanga, kartal, guitar, piano and violin. Carmella’s voice pierced the material vale and a little bit of spiritual sky fell in and transported us all to higher dimensions.
Between the songs Carmella spoke of offering our prayers to bring peace to those affected by political or natural upheaval around the world, particularly the devastating situation in Christchurch, New Zealand.
And there was cake
