The following is an update on Agnideva prabhu’s condition: Yesterday afternoon his doctors got back the ultrasound images of his heart and their suspicions were confirmed. The mitral valve in his heart is leaking ( a prolapse ) leading to the build up of fluid in his lungs. The mitral valve prolapse is when there is abnormality in the flaps that regulate the flow of blood in and out of the heart. This is a structural abnormality which is usually there from birth or early childhood. It was probably recently triggered by infection and/or exertion.

Neurology will examine him today to help him with his reflexes, which are very slow. Then the doctors will remove his ventilator and try to get him to breath on his own. If this is achieved he will be moved out ICU into the Cardio Thoracic ward. There his condition can be treated in in one of three ways; by medicine, by surgery using an inserted catheter, or by open-heart surgery. The doctors would like to help him recover to a stage where he is cognizant and understands any procedure they need to perform. Agnideva prabhu is now slowly becoming more alert and no doubt the caring compassionate prayers of so many well wishers are helping . We humbly request devotees and well-wishers to continue contributing to the campaign to raise funds for the many expenses ahead in his road to recovery. Thank you!

Your servant,
Indradyumna Swami
